Do I need any software to send SMS messages?Hide/Show Answer
No. You can send SMS messages using our Web based online service. But you can install our ZapitSMS client for windows which is fast, small and provides additional functionality and ease of use. ZapitSMS is available for download from our website www.zapitsms.com. If you are using Outlook 2007 you can also make use of it’s built-in SMS features with ZapitSMS.
Which email clients does ZapitSMS support?Hide/Show Answer
ZapitSMS can be used with any email program. However users of Microsoft Outlook can benefit from improved integration.
How many characters can I type in an SMS?Hide/Show Answer
A normal SMS message can be up to a maximum of 160 characters in length but with ZapitSMS you can send Long SMS messages up to a maximum of 765 characters. Messages greater than 160 characters incur an additional charge as they are sent using multiple SMS messages concatenated together.
What is BulkSMS?Hide/Show Answer
BulkSMS is a feature of the ZapitSMS client for Windows which allows you to send SMS to lists of mobile phone numbers contained in a .CSV file. A .CSV file is an industry standard for storing data that can be easily exported from spreadsheets and databases. With BulkSMS you can very quickly send an SMS to thousands of mobile phones.
Can I personalise each message with BulkSMS?Hide/Show Answer
Yes, using message templates you can specify any column of a .CSV file to contain the message or part of a message such as a name or other value.
What is the maximum number of messages I can send with BulkSMS?Hide/Show Answer
Each batch of messages is currently limited to 10,000. If larger batches need to be sent you could break it up into groups of 10,000 or contact ZapitSMS support to arrange an increased limit.
Can I share by address book with my co-workers?Hide/Show Answer
Yes. Account administrators can create contact groups that are shared with all users of the account. This prevents the need for all users to store common contact details separately.
If I send a scheduled SMS do I need to leave my computer on?Hide/Show Answer
No. Scheduled SMS are stored on the ZapitSMS server and sent at the specified time so there is no need to leave your computer on.
What do I do if I change my mind and I want to cancel the scheduled SMS?Hide/Show Answer
Scheduled SMS can be cancelled by right-clicking the message in the Scheduled SMS page of the ZapitSMS client for windows and selecting Cancel.
Can the scheduled SMS feature handle different time zones?Hide/Show Answer
The scheduled SMS feature depends on the timezone of your PC being set correctly. If your time-zone in Windows is not correct then your scheduled SMS will not send at the correct time.
Do I need to configure my firewall settings to enable ZapitSMS windows client to install and run?Hide/Show Answer
Yes, ZapitSMS connects directly to the ZapitSMS server over the internet. In most cases the firewall software installed on the computer displays the block/allow message (ZapitSMS is trying to connect to the Internet), you should choose 'allow' whenever the message is shown to permit ZapitSMS to connect to the server.
What is ZapitSMS for Outlook 2007?Hide/Show Answer
Microsoft Outlook 2007 includes a built-in SMS tool which you can use to send and receive SMS messages. To use it you just have to connect it to Outlook Mobile Service provider such as ZapitSMS. For instructions on setting it up click here.
What languages are supported by the ZapitSMS API?Hide/Show Answer
Any language that can generate a HTTP request can use the HTTP API. Sample source code is provided for PHP, VB.Net, C#, Java and ASP.

ZapitSMS has a simple pricing model with no fixed term, licence fee or setup fee. This means that you can have unlimited users and you will be only charged for the number of messages sent.
Do you have prepaid plans?Hide/Show Answer
Yes. Pre-paid messages will remain valid for 6 months from date of the most recent purchase. As long as you purchase SMS credits at least once every 6 months all of your credits will never expire.
Can I sign up for prepaid account and later change to a post paid plan?Hide/Show Answer
Yes, you can apply to change to a post paid plan using the ZapitSMS Administration website.
Can I send SMS to my contacts in other countries?Hide/Show Answer
You can send SMS to 422 Networks covering 158 countries. Please visit our International SMS Coverage page for list of countries and networks. If your require destination or networks not listed, please contact us.

No, you can send the same message to as many recipients as you wish.

- Usage Report : This report contains messages sent by you and your account users in particular time period such as last 3 months or last 12 months.(available on Web Administration site under My Report and Users Report section).
- Batch Report : This report contains the important information such as message delivery status, credits used, sent date and time, recipient phone number etc for a particular batch(1 or more messages).(available on ZapitSMS client and Web Administration website under Sent Items)
- Transaction Report: It contains all the transactions i.e. prepaid credits purchased by you(available on Web Administration under Transactions)
Can I choose where the replies go for the messages sent by me?Hide/Show Answer
Yes, you can choose from a range of options for receiving replies such as:
- Mobile Phone
- Your Email
- No Replies
- HTTP
- Inbox (ZapitSMS)
How and what can I change in the configuration settings of the users under my account?Hide/Show Answer
You can change configuration settings of your users from User Account section present under Web Administration. You can enable/disable a user account and there SMS facility, set there daily limit, email address, password, full name, account type etc.
How can I delete a message from my inbox?Hide/Show Answer
You can delete message from inbox from Web Administration by clicking on delete link against the message present under inbox page.
Note: Deleted messages from Inbox will go to "Deleted Items" section and can be deleted permanently or restored from there.

Yes, ZapitSMS client currently supports 3 type of address books:

Can I add my signatures with every message sent?Hide/Show Answer
Yes, you can add your signature (text) that will be attached automatically with every message sent from your account. To set your signature in ZapitSMS windows client, go to the "Settings" section and to set in Web Administration please to to "My Details" section.
Note: You only have to set your signatures in one interface and changes will be reflected automatically.

How can I change my daily sms limit?Hide/Show Answer
You can change your daily limit from Web Administration under "My Details" section. A maximum value of 5000 can be set from Web Administration, for setting value greater than 5000 please contact support team.
What is ZapitSMS Users group?Hide/Show Answer
ZapitSMS users group is created by default in ZapitSMS address book. It contains all the users present under your account including your account. You can send sms message to all the users or a particular user by using this group. Access to this group is only available to administrator level users under your account.
What is the Email API? How can I use it?Hide/Show Answer
The Email API (Application Programming Interface) is one of the features that allows users to send SMS messages by using any email client such as Outlook, Thunderbird etc, web based email, or any other system that can generate an email such a server application.
To send SMS messages using the Email Api it will need to be activated in your account.
To use it simply send an email to mobile_number@zapitsms.net. For example, if you want to send SMS message to phone 0405970000 then send an email to 0405970000@zapitsms.net. The Email subject and text will be combined to create the SMS text.
Note: To use the email API you must enable email API master settings for your account under "Account Settings" on the Web Administration. In addition the user account must also be enabled for the email API under the "My Details" section.
The email account that sends the message must match the email address of the relevant ZapitSMS user account.
For additional security the Email API can be restricted to specific IP address ranges.

Does ZapitSMS support delivery receipts?Hide/Show Answer
Yes, ZapitSMS do support delivery receipts but receipts are dependent on the particular network to which you are sending an SMS message. You can view whether a message is delivered successfully by logging into Web Administration and under "Sent Items" section click on "report" link against the message. On the actual report the status field if showing "Successfully Delivered" means that the destination network has sent us the delivery receipt for this message.
Can I specify my name or my company’s name as sender instead of the mobile number?Hide/Show Answer
Yes, you can specify any text (up to 11 chars) as the sender instead of your mobile phone. However, in this case you won’t be able to receive replies from the recipients as your mobile number won’t be sent with the message. This feature is ideal for advertising of special offers, coupons and announcements.

What is the difference between shared and personal groups?Hide/Show Answer
A shared group is visible to all uses within an account. Only an account administrator level user can create and modify a shared group in the ZapitSMS address book. All the users under the account will have read-only access to the shared group.
Why am I getting “JavaScript Disabled” message on the Web Admin?Hide/Show Answer
The "JavaScript Disabled" message means that scripting is disabled in your browser and ZapitSMS features which are dependent on scripting (such as Send SMS) won’t work correctly. The solution for this problem is turn on scripting in your browser and login to the ZapitSMS Web Administration site again.
